The Enhancing Community Actions to Support Transparency project
The Development and Institutionalization Support Center "DISC" started the implementation of the Enhancing Community Actions to Support Transparency project, the project is supported by the Foundation For the Future "FFF" (Middle East office – Jordan). The project focuses on a juridical approach impacting Egyptian social issues, the project includes several activities among the Advocating Transparency and Accountability Program chain executed by DISC. The Program aims to empower local communities and decision makers to craft better strategies and to create suitable environment for people in order to have easier access to government's services, and to better utilize available resources in the presence of values of transparency and accountability. Through transparency, people will be able to identify the methods taken while spending public money, employment, and methods of the access to information and services with equality.

Moreover, the Advocating Transparency and Accountability Program empowers NGOs' capacities through participation at decision-making through community needs assessment, and through communication with Media outlets, through this communication, Media will be put in the agenda of decision-makers as legal means instilling values of productive dialogue for the benefits of the Egyptian society. DISC started the Enhancing Community Action to Support Transparency project through conducting "Communication between NGOs and Media - Building Capacity and Mutual Rights" training workshop which was held from 9 to 10th April 2009. The training workshop was conducted at Greenhouse Hotel – Tanta, El Gharbya governorate, and it was attended by Mr. Kamal Nabil DISC's Managing Director, and in cooperation with El Adala International Center for Consultancy.
