Supporting Youth Participation in Public Life Project:

At May 2007, the Development and Institutionalization Support Center "DISC" launched the "Supporting Youth Participation in Public Life" project. The project starts at May 2007 and ends at May 2008, the project consists of several activities such as; conducting twelve training workshops targeting 300 of young party leaders, the training workshop included (Support to Youth – Youth and Media – Youth and Political Life). In addition, DISC conducted fifteen roundtables which were attended by a number of policy-makers and political party leaders, through these activities research papers were developed and discussion sessions were organized by DISC's staff of experts. The project was implemented through the support of the United States Agency for International Development "USAID", and in cooperation with of the General Association for Youth Development "GAYD".

Egyptian youth are proactive actors in the process of Egypt democratization, public decision-making, and community development.

Strategic Objective 1:

Party and NGO youth leaders are effective and proactive in getting more young men and women in political participation and engaged more in public decision.
Strategic Objective 2:

Egyptian youth are aware of their political rights and respond to the call of elections in 2007 and 2008 and the everlasting calls for democracy and public participation.
Strategic Objective 3:

Egyptian experts and community leaders respond to youth needs and develop more innovative mechanisms for youth engagement in the political and public spheres.
