Workshop entitled "Towards a Deeper Understanding of Corruption"

The Development and Institutionalization Support Center "DISC" had conducted a workshop entitled "Towards a Deeper Understanding of Corruption", it was held on Monday 29 June 2009 at Imperial Steamer – El-Zamalek. A vast number of Civil Society leaders and media representatives attended the event, and at the event a field study and recommendations were discussed. The field study, entitled "Public Recognition of All Forms and Implications of Organizational and Administrative Corruption & Means of Promoting Transparency and Accountability in the Egyptian Society".

The workshop was attended by numerous researchers:
Dr. Rashad Ahmed Abdel Latif (Ph.D.) - Board Chair Arab Organization for Environment and Human Development, and Deputy President of Helwan University.
Dr. Madiha Mostafa Fathy (Ph.D.) - University Professor, Community Organization and Development Faculty of Social Service Helwan University.
Dr. Ibrhaim Ezz El-Din (Ph.D.), professor of Community Organization and Development. Sixth of October University.
Dr. Nermeen Ibrahim Helmy - Head of Planning and Research Committee Arab Organization for Environmental and Human Development.
Dr. Mahmoud Alam El-Din (Ph.D.) – Head of Journalism Department – Faculty of Mass Media, Cairo University.
Ms. Sahar El Tawila – Managing Director of the Social Contract Center.
Dr. Ghada Moussa (Ph.D.) – Secretary-General of the Transparency and Integrity Committee, the Ministry of State for Administrative Development.
